Haircuts

Well, I got my hair cut yesterday. The only person that has given me a good haircut (in my life,I think) is John at LeSpalon. That's it. My head looked like it had a big mushroom top on it this morning. So, I got out my scissors and cut some layers. It looks better. I'm actually getting pretty good in a do-it-yourself kind of way. I cut Robin's hair all the time, Bradley's, Honey's and Isabelle's, Jacob's, Carolyn's, and I'm soley in charge of Pony Boy's mohawks. The list keeps growing.

I can remember Mama Louque having me cut her hair when I was still in middle school. I did it for years. Hers was a short cut, so it was difficult. But she had curls, which hid the mistakes. Then there were the Big Ken haircuts. Poor Ken. Those were strictly a result of financial hardship for him.

Andrew lets me do trims, but can't quite get over that clipper malfunction that ate his bangs almost to the scalp. That was bad. I had a #8 guard on, but it felt like it does when you're mowing grass and you hit a patch that is too long for the blades, but the mower gathers strength and goes WOMPF. It was bad. I cried, and Andrew had to live with weird hair for awhile. He wouldn't let me just buzz it. Never do bangs with clippers. Never.

So my portfolio keeps growing. I didn't plan it. It just keeps happening. I don't charge anyone, so I think I'm legal.
