Rooster

My third son is Evan Louque Harvey. He is directly in the middle of 5 children. January 21st is his 14th birthday, so I think I'll celebrate.

Evan has always been cool. I mean really cool. He's always had "something" about him that made him that way. When he was 5, we were about to go somewhere, and he had gone to get ready. He came out with some jeans, a button down shirt- completely unbuttoned, and a shell necklace. He looked at me and said, "I'm ready." I clearly was not ready. When he was 6, we were in the mall walking past Victoria's Secret. As we passed the display window, Evan kinda put his head back just a little and said, "That's what I'm talkin' about."

All of my children have different talents. Evan is smart. He's also an athlete. He plays football and baseball mainly, but he dabbles in everything. Something that most people may not know about Evan is that he is very sensitive to spiritual things. He has had dreams that really seem to be from God. I can remember when he was 7 or 8 and seeing him run outside in his underwear early in the mornings (even in winter!) He seemed to be wanting it to be a secret, so I just watched from a distance, and he'd come inside in about 2 minutes, and run back to bed. I finally asked what he was doing. He was watching Brad drive off and praying for his safety until he drove out of sight. That's Evan. He's my most macho, sensitive kid. I cherish him completely. He's the man.

  1. Love the pic! And I still say "that's what I'm talkin' about", that's one of my favorite Evan stories.

  2. I can just watch Ken growing up again. And whether or not we like to admit it the "Louque" was passed down and lives on (in our cooler and best of the best boys). It has just taken other names.
