I love Counting Crows. Adam Duritz is a poet. I have a few of their songs on my playlist. I could just put all their music on it, but I'm trying not to overwhelm anyone. Their music has such happiness and sadness in it...I love it. Very real life. So beautiful it makes me cry, but I don't know why. That is art.

Start tearing the old man down
Run past the heather and down to the old road
Start turning the grain into the ground
Roll a new leaf over
In the middle of the night, there's an old man treading around in the gathered rain
Well mister, if you're going to walk on water
Could you drop a line my way?
Omaha
Somewhere in middle America
Get right to the heart of matters
It's the heart that matters more
I think you better turn your ticket in
And get your money back at the door

  1. Counting Crows are freaky good stuff. I always loved the song Rain King so one day I twittered asking what that song was about and our old neighbor told me it was based on the book Henderson the Rain King by Saul Bellows so I got the book and have started reading it. It's very weird so far. I'll let you know how it is when I finish it.

Anna Begins is my favorite song of theirs...after Rain King.

  2. Carole, they are coming here in August. You should fly over. You and me. Outdoor concert. I see no weaknesses.

  3. I've got all 3 of those on my MP3 player right now. RIGHT NOW. I'm with you on Anna Begins, Carole. Great stuff.

    Her kindness bangs a gong,
    It's moving me along....
